Online fashion market in UAE is at its early growth stage with increasing participation of E-commerce portals. With the emerging social media exposure, people are well versed with the global trends and thus are open to exploring the international brands. Though, Apparel and footwear witnessed slower growth in 2016 as compared to 2015 due to effect of the falling in oil and gold prices but the government of United Arab Emirates is proactively investing in diversification of economy, which is expected to lead to growth over the forecast period.
Growth in number of internet users and smart phone users had been significant in the last five years. UAE is home to largest expatriate population in GCC. The reach of people towards online shopping has also grown as people find it easy to shop through mobile mode. Moreover, increase in disposable income of the growing population of UAE coupled with the westernization has attracted people towards foreign brands.
